Step 3.What We Will Do With your idea now clearer and a load of questions you want us to answer it’s time to set us to work. Using the “Set us to work” button on the right hand side of this article you can provide us with the basic information we need in order to start working on your quotation and discuss the questions you might have about how your app can be brought to life. Using the Eigo has a phased process to managing application development that has been developed during our 10 years building software solutions for business. Each phase provides increased structure to your app and ensures problems do not arise further down in the line in development and that your ideas are clearly communicated into a functional app. Concept Development This initial brainstorming phase is where we throw all the ideas in the pot and start to ask a number of the questions in the What do I need section. This helps to profile the application and ensure the app has the right foundation to be built upon. Scoping It’s important that the ideas and wish list of functions for the app are clearly defined and have a purpose. We will recommend which features should be in your initial app release and help to clarify the reasons behind some features being within the scope of the project or outside of the scope. Small changes to scope can have a dramatic effect on the overall project costs so we will make it clear where the projects costs are and what part of the functionality they represent. There may be a number of rounds of scoping as we refine the app definition and modify project timing to suit both the objectives of the app and the constraints such as initial budget. Negotiation We will provide you with a project reference document, this contains clarification of the project objectives, scope, risks, constraints and time. This is a point of reference throughout the project development process for both you and Eigo. A commercial document will also be prepared detailing the finance model of the app development and payment structure. This commercial document once signed forms the agreement for us to develop your application based on the specification provided.
Project Specification We will develop the app virtually showing the user interface in the app and it’s interaction, design functionality. This along with any required interface specifications will provide a step through of the complete application before a line of code has been written. This is a valuable process, changing a button or adding a form once the app is built costs a lot more than getting it right in the first place. A strict project specification process results in reduced costs for our customers and a more refined app experience for your consumer. Build Dependent on the duration of your build process we will release pre-testing versions of the app to you for review while build continues. We take an iterative approach to rapidly deliver sections of the app and keep you up to date on progress via regular releases. You can keep a watchful eye on our progress by accessing our project management system to monitor progress on build and when the next pre-test release is expected to be out. We constantly test and evaluate the app while it is being built to ensure nothing is missed. This iterative testing is followed once build is complete with execution of a full app test before it is released to you for acceptance. User Acceptance Testing This may be the first time you have had the whole app together at once, you are now in the mind of your consumer having just downloaded your app for the first time. The app will match the final pre-build concept so you should be familiar with how to get around the app. Try the app out on others, see how they react to the app and work with it. Their feedback can provide the final tweeks necessary to make your app more competitive. We budget for some additional work within scope at this stage so we will make changes and send the app back until you are satisfied. Release & Deployment With your app development process signed off we will release your app to the relevant App Store or Marketplace. There is a 14+ day delay when submitting to Apple to hold back the marketing until you know the app is live and available. Android apps and Blackberry apps need no approval so can be promoted as soon as we put them live. Post Project Review Within 2 months of go-live we will schedule a meeting to review the project, we like to get feedback on how we did, what we could have done better and see how you perceived our performance. We are constantly trying to improve our processes and customer service so this is your opportunity to give us frank feedback good or bad. Ongoing Support & Analysis We want to make sure your app continues to perform and take notice of your consumer feedback, we can provide app performance analytics each month to review downloads, geographic penetration, revenue and app feedback. Keeping you and your application up to date with the requirements of your consumers. Support is an ongoing maintenance contract that provides you with a service level for any changes or updates you want to deliver for your app.
