I’ll start off with the bad news, not all apps are equal. There isn’t even a standard cost or rate for you to compare, however, however it's no secret how we go about estimating and quoting for projects. The following sections described our approach to project costing.
Concept Development – We understand that when companies don’t put clear pricing on their websites, it’s hard to work out what a reasonable cost for an app is. We are happy to provide estimates or "ballparks" (normally within 20% of final quote) based on a simple conversation about your idea or requirements. This pricing gives you the opportunity to quickly see if the project can get off the ground, and/or whether we fit the bill for your selection process.
Scoping , is the discussion and critique of your app development needs, this process costs nothing, or certainly doesn’t when you work with us. We need to understand what it is you want to deliver, how it should function etc. If we don’t understand your app we cannot give you a firm cost or achievable time-scale. The point is we would rather you be able to rely on the price we give you having done a proper scoping process, than give you a price that changes halfway through the project.

If we don’t understand your project requirements fully then we won’t be able to build the app that you expect. Furthermore, better definition of your requirements to begin with will help reduce the time it takes to build your project and eliminate any scope disagreements towards the end of the project.
No cost need be incurred to get this far, we invest our time understanding your solution and running the scope through our internal tools to arrive at a time budget. The time budget is the total number of hours of work we expect to have to do to deliver your project. We constantly analyse the time it takes to complete certain types of tasks to ensure our quotes are accurate. Hourly rates vary depend on your project complexity and resource level requirements. Our quote is a fixed price quote, based on a well defined application.
A typical project we take on involves between 100 & 400 hours of project management, graphic design, developer resource and software testers.
Hourly rates for software development can vary geographically. For example in the West End or Central London the rates are approximately 25%-30% more than a company like ours based just 20 minutes away from the City
We hope this went some way to answering your question why not get in touch. We can’t wait to hear from you and give you a quote, personalised to your specific needs.
