At Eigo we have commenced research and development on mobile app development, focussing on the following platforms: As we are new to the market, our first project will bring together what we have learnt from our research and training, utilising our dynamic development team, to produce an application and release it onto the app store, free of charge.
We aim to establish a firm stronghold on the ‘Utility applications’ area of the iPhone app store, and provide useful, reusable applications.
One of the biggest jibes we’ve noticed from users about the iPhone app store is the ratio of frequently used / single use applications available. Basically there is a lot available on the app store which users download and use once but never again.
With iPhone development specifically, there are strict rules set prior to getting acceptance from Apple, including non beta, suit for purpose and pre-requisite needs for applications. So it is important that software we release is of a perfect quality.
As a software development and web applications company we thoroughly test as part of a stringent software development process. We will be imposing this level of stringency on our mobile apps development to ensure what we deliver is the best quality possible.
One way to approach the market is to take an existing online application and build a phone interface to interact and manipulate the data shown on that application. This client reporting / website outlet approach is evidently already a popular area for mobile applications, e.g. Twitter, Google Latitude.
Our long term strategy as we develop and get our foot in the door for interactive tool and utility applications, we will be expanding our research and development into the Multimedia and Games markets.
As we progress with our iPhone application development, we will be keeping you up to date on our progress through our website. If you would like to find out more please contact us.
Look out for Eigo on the Apple iPhone app store in the coming weeks.
